THENN ("we", "us") is an AI photo studio app for iOS. This policy explains what data we handle, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect as little as possible, we don't sell your data, and your photos are used only to create your photos.
1. What we collect
Photos you upload — used solely to generate your requested photoshoots. A device identifier — used to track your credit balance server-side; THENN requires no account, email or phone number. Purchase records — processed by Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat); we never see your payment details. Basic technical logs — such as API request metadata, used for reliability and abuse prevention. Crash and error reports: technical details about failures, used to fix them. If you installed the app from one of our ads, Apple confirms that to the ad network itself, anonymously and in aggregate; the app neither collects nor sends it. We do not collect an advertising identifier and the app never asks to track you across other apps.
2. How we use your data
To generate your photos: with your explicit in-app permission, your uploads are sent to our image-generation platform (fal.ai), which processes them with OpenAI (GPT-Image) and Google (Gemini) image models to produce your requested shots. To operate credits and purchases: your device identifier maps to a credit ledger; purchase events from the App Store grant credits. To keep the service safe: rate limiting, abuse detection and debugging.
3. No model training
We do not use your photos to train AI models, and we do not permit our processors to do so under our agreements with them. Your uploads exist to render your photos — nothing else.
4. Face data
THENN does not perform facial recognition and does not create biometric identifiers such as faceprints or face templates. The photos you upload naturally contain faces; they are processed as ordinary images — by fal.ai together with OpenAI (GPT-Image) and Google (Gemini) — for the sole purpose of rendering the photoshoot you requested. Face data is never used to identify you, never used to train AI models, never sold, and never shared for advertising. Uploads and results are transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS) and stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage; our AI providers process images transiently to fulfil each request and do not receive your name or contact details (we do not collect them at all). Retention: you can delete any shoot in the app at any time, which permanently removes its files from storage; all remaining stored media is deleted automatically 30 days after your subscription or credit access ends; and you can email us at any time to have every stored photo deleted immediately (see Section 9).
5. Storage & retention
Uploads and generated results are stored in Cloudflare R2 (object storage) so you can access your gallery; credit balances are stored in Cloudflare KV. Retention is limited: deleting a shoot in the app permanently removes its images from storage, and if your subscription or credit access ends, all remaining stored media is deleted automatically 30 days later. You can also request immediate deletion of everything at any time (see Section 9).
6. Service providers
We rely on a small set of processors: Cloudflare (hosting, storage, networking), fal.ai (image-generation platform, which uses OpenAI and Google as AI model providers), Apple (payments), RevenueCat (subscription management) and Sentry (crash and error reports). Each receives only what it needs to perform its function, is bound by data-processing terms, and none of them may use your photos to train AI models.
8. Children
THENN is intended for users aged 18 and over. Newborn and family styles are designed for parents photographing their own children; you must have the right to upload any photo you submit.
9. Your rights & deletion
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your data. Because THENN is account-free, deletion works via your device: contact us with your request and we will remove your stored uploads, results and credit records.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and note the new effective date above. Continued use of THENN after changes means you accept the updated policy.
